Friction is the force which acts when two bodies are kept in contact. It plays a major role in day to day life. It is the friction that helps us to walk, drive, write, etc.

It is the force that enables us to oppose motion, that is applying brakes. However it has a dark side too, for instance it prevents a machine from becoming 100% efficient, as it leads to energy loss. In most machines friction is the cause of defect.

Hope it helps if so please mark it as brainliest.
