yes friction is a friend , we slide a book one ends book is stop due to friction and also use friction on road and other hand friction is foe because friction reduce the speed of car and other object

when you rub your hand against each other small amount of heat is produced this is also because of the friction.

the oil like lubricants decreases the level of friction.
