Explain "full employment " as one of the long term objectives of economic planning.

i) Full employment is a situation when everyone who is able and willing to work are engaged in some gainful employments. ii) Full employment rules out the existence of poverty and unemployment. It also implies that the process of economic growth in the country is not benefitted only by richer sections of the society. iii) For a developed country there should be a higher rate of active participation of the working age group in economic activities of the country. iv) Thus along with growth, modernisation, self reliance and equity full employment is another long period objective of 5 year plans in India.
