explain function of blood ?​


thelearner123: blood is a important part of our circulatory system it helps carry vital nutrients to the whole of your body...blood has diffrent components ..... plasma, white blood cells,RBC , platelets..... all these are important in their in ways ...hope it helps!!!!

FUNCTION OF BLOOD ---------------

>Blood carries oxygen from the lungs to different parts of the body .

>Blood carries carbon dioxide from the body cells to the lungs for breathing out .

>Blood carries digested food from the small intestine to all the parts of the body .

>Blood carries hormones from the endocrine glands to different organ of the body .

>Blood protects the body from diseases . Thisis because white blood cell kill the bacteria and other germs which cause diseases .

>Blood regulate the body temperature this is because the blood capillaries in our skin help to keep our body temperature constant at about 37° C.

>Blood carry the waste product code urea from the liver to the kidney for excretion in the urine .

→ Transport of oxygen :-

A small amount of oxygen is carried by plasma as it's aqueous solution from lungs to tissues for oxidation of blood.

→ Transport of Hormones :-

The endocrine gland secrete their hormones directly into the blood, which carries them to their target organs.

→ Transport of Waste products :-

Plasma carries nitrogenous waste namely; urea, uric acid, etc. from the liver and other tissues to the kidney for removal.

→ Regulation of water balance :-

Plasma regulates the water balance of the body, as it supplies water to the tissues and receives the excess water formed in metabloic process.

→ Regulation of pH :-

Plasma helps to regulate the pH of the body fluids.

→ Regulation of the body temperature :-

Plasma carried heat from the heat producing tissues such as muscles and glands to others.

→ Platelets :-

Platelets play a role in blood clotting.

→ WBCs (white blood corpuscles) :-

The WBCs act as the soilders, scavengers and builder of the body.
