Explain Gandhian approach to politics and identify its core elements

Gandhi considered the politics as an instrument to uplift people in  spiritual, moral and economic affairs. According to his vision an ideal society is non-violent and democratic, it must be a fine balance between social responsibility and individual freedom. He held the ideals of the human life in high regard.

The Gandhi's thoughts had four pillars: truth, Sarvodaya, Satyagraha and nonviolence.

All the movements started by him had these elements in them.

He used satyagraha in Indian independence movement and also during the struggle in South Africa.
