Geitonogamy involves the transfer of the pollen grains from anthers of one flower to the stigma of the other flower belonging to the same plant or genetically similar plant. It resembles cross pollination in transfer of pollen grains and role of pollinating agent but actually is self pollination as the two plants involved in the process are genetically similar.
