This is all because of auxins. This phenomen is called phototropism .

Let me explain you...the auxins usually found at the tip of shoots of plants runaway from light ...i.e . If you make light source coming from only one path ..the auxins will move towards the darker part...and since they promote growth the darker side undergo a greater growth which...tends the plant to bend towards the light
