Answer:

This bending of shoot towards sunlight is due to the hormone called auxin.

when sunlight falls on plant auxin goes of back side of the shoot as a result there will be more no. of cells on back part of plant thus the front part of the plant tends to bend towards light.

It is due to the directional movement of the plant part towards sunlight called Phototropism.The plant hormone Auxin diffuses towards the shady side of the stem. It stimulates the growth of cells on the shady side of the plant which causes bending of the plant to the other side.
