pollen grains have external layer called exine which is made up of sporopollenin which is the highest resistant material known till now .

it is having no effect of acid ,alkali, temperature so it is helpful in maintaining the pollen grain as such and they can be preserved as fossils .

Answer:

Pollen grains have a two-layered wall.and the hard outer layer is called as exine and is made up of sporopollenin which is the most resistant organic material . It can withstand the high temperatures, strong acids, alkali and etc.... ... Pollen grains are well-preserved as fossils because of the sporopollenin.
