Ground water depletion is the phenomenon in which the water from the earth (i.e., ground water) is lost due to many reasons.

 we require water for homes, and also for agriculture and industries, Groundwater is becoming scarce in many parts of the world due to heavy dependence on it. In several states of the country groundwater levels are dangerously low, and are still declining. Deforestation is the main cause of groundwater depletion.

replenishment of ground water can be done by rain water harvesting and reforestation or by using groundwater with care and wasting zero quantity of it.

Nowdays We are excessively using ground water to drink, wash clothes, etc. Because they are pure. But We know that only 1% of Pure water is in our earth. So we need to just use it for drink and save it. We should use impure water to to other activities. Also we should store rain water and use them to was clothes, etc.
