Growth of Science

With the growth of modern education in India people developed a scientific attitude. Observation, questioning and experimentation become the norm of the day. People did not accept anything at face value or take things for granted. In ancient India great progress was made in the fields for science and medicine. Aryabhatta, Varahamihira, Sushruta and Charaka art famous scientists and physicians. However, over a period of time science took a back seat while religion and Theology gained more prominence. Education received a cast identify as it came to be confined only to the higher castes. This class held on the superstition and age-old beliefs, refusing to acknowledge that scientific and intellectual revolution had transformed society and economy all around the world-especially Europe.
