Half life of the reaction is the life when product becomes 50% with respect to Reactant.It is represented by t_{\frac{1}{2}}

Assume,R_{o} =100 ,R_{t} =50 and t = t_{\frac{1}{2}}

Using Equation (1), we get

t_{\frac{1}{2}} =  \dfrac{2.303\ log\dfrac{100}{50}}{K}= \dfrac{2.303\ log2}{K}=\dfrac{0693}{K}

Relation of rate constant and half-life.

t_{\frac{1}{2}} =\dfrac{0.693}{K}.
