Human heart is covered by pericardial membrane.
It weighs about 360gm. As oxygen and carbon dioxide both have to be transported by blood the heart has different chambers viz. Left and right
The left one carries oxygenated blood. Each half is further divided into two chambers. The upper chamber is called as atrium and the lower one is called as ventricle hence human heart has four chambers .
Circulation of blood within heart

The muscles of atria contact
The right atrium recives deoxiginated blood from all over the body through venacava ( veins ) the left atrium too ricives oxygen rich blood from lungs simultaneously though four pulmonary vein
The atria contact and pour the blood into respective ventricle .left ventricle get filled with oxygenated blood and right with deoxiginated blood.
Now both the ventricle contract resulting pumping out the oxygenated blood to all parts of the body through the aorta (largest artery) and the deoxiginated blood from right ventricle enter the lungs for origination
