Amoeba has no specific shape. It has a pseudopodia. That means false foot. It has no shape, it can change its shape into anything it wants.
So, when there is a food particle around, it throws its pseudopodia around the food particles and traps it. Then it absorbs it into its body.

- Intake of food in Amoeba occurs by temporary finger like extensions of cell surface called pseudopodia which fuse over the food particle forming a food vacuole.
- Inside the food vacuole, complex substances are broken down into simpler ones. This is called intracellular digestion.
- The digested food then diffuses into cytoplasm.
- The absorbed food is utilised to meet the energy requirements of Amoeba.
- The remaining undigested material is moved to surface and thrown out of cell.
Hope it will help you ^_^
