Answer:

limitation of Rutherford model was that it assumed the electron to be revolving around the nucleus of the atom in an orbit , similar to how the earth revolves around the sun . However if it was moving with a constant Speed in a circle then it must have a some acceleration now if an electron is accelarated then it must lose energy in form of electromagnetic radiation and thus eventually collide with the nucleus going in a spiral . Now bohr built upon this previous model with a bew theory that electron was an electromagnetic as well as a particle and that it behaved as a standing wave in an atom and had a fixed energy that is a quantised energy in an atom and can move around specific orbitals having these fixed quantised energies ( standing waves have their energy constant )
