Bt cotton is becoming a boom for cotton formers because of:

• Cotton is the major crop for Indian farmers but the ordinary cotton plants attacked by the cotton ball worms.

• Bt cotton has overcome this disease and give miraculous crop yields in the cultivation of Bt cotton.

• Bt cotton is pest-resistant. Bt gene is isolated and transferred from a bacteria bacillus thurigiensis.

• This genetically modified gene is induced into the local cottonseed, then it protects the cotton crop from bollworms.

• After eating this Bt leaves the worms to become sleepy so damage is minimized.

• That's why Bt cotton becomes a boom for cotton formers.
