A megalith is a big stone or stones used for the building of a large structure or shrine. Megaliths were built in Deccan Plateau, the south of India, North East and Castle around 3000 years ago where the idea began. These structures are constructed of large pillars arranged in a fastener framework without the use of morter or concrete. We have been used to mark funerals. The dead and various things such as black-and-red jewelry, iron instruments and weapons, gold ornaments and horse skeletons, conch-shells etc. were buried in these megaliths. And with people of different ranks or status, various things were buried

EXPLANATION:

  • These monuments are built as burial sites where cist and chamber remains can be found throughout many parts of India.

  • The beginnings, however, are obscured in folds of history because there is always a twist of dates that can reflect either an early history period or a late Iron Age of burial sites or megaliths which can either represent the early history era or some to late Iron Age.
