Explain how can you use absolute value to represent a negative number in a real world situation? Thanks.

Like take the case of a water containing bottle , if we need to tell somebody to take out some water we say "take out 20 ml of water from the bottle" instead of saying "add -20 ml of water to the bottle" because it seems incorrect in speech.
