Explain how Carbon dioxide is able to control fire.

Answer:

CO2 being heavier than oxygen, covers the fire like blanket and also brings down the temperature of fuel. Since, contact between the fuel and oxygen is cut off the fire comes undercontrol.

Heya!

Carbon dioxide forms a blanket around the fire, cutting off the air supply, due to which the fire gets extinguished
