A Celsius temperature scale starts from 0 degree as the freezing point and 100 degree is recorded as the boiling point.
This scale can be calibrated by using the Ice Point method, which is done by dipping the thermometer into a container full of crushed ice and some fresh water.
However, the water and ice should be mixed thoroughly to get a uniform temperature, before putting the stem of the thermometer in this mixture. The thermometer should be kept here for at least 2 minutes to calibrate it locally.
