Once in the atmosphere, CFCs drift slowly upward to the stratosphere, where they are broken up by ultraviolet radiation, releasing the chlorine that catalytically destroys ozone

1)Scientific evidence reveals that stratospheric Ozone is being destroyed mainly by chlorine atoms of chlorofluorocarbons CFC molecules .

2)It is also found in industrial solvents ,dry cleaning agents and Hospital sterilants and foam .

3)During use of above materials a lot of CFCs get dispersed into the atmosphere .

4)Once these CFCs molecules are broken up by UV light ,it releases chlorine and bromine which for the demolish ozone at an alarming rate.

hope this helps!!!
