PROCESS OF CLONING DONE TO PRODUCE DOLLY SHEEP:

The term cloning was popular in 1996 when Lan Wilmut and his colleague was getting successful to clone a sheep named Dolly. Dolly was the first mammal which was cloned. Dolly was cloned from an 'adult cell'. Scientists found a way and they decide to 'reprogram' the udder cells.

When it was a unfertilized cell they injected the cell whose nucleus was removed and with the help of electric pulses, the cells were fused. This unfertilised cell was from the blackface ewe of Scotland.

Scientist belonging to this team managed to fuse from the 'adult white sheep cell' with the egg cell from the 'black-faced sheep', now they have one important thing that is surety about their result regarding cell development in embryo.

The total number of cell which is participated in fusion is 277, 29. Early embryos were developed under the research and 13 of it were implanted in 13 surrogate mothers. In spite all, the 6.6 kg dorest lamb whose colour is white born after '148 days'.
