explain how CO2 is able to control fire

co2 is heavier than oxygen
being heavier it comes down and cuts the contact of fire with oxygen
since for fire oxygen is required and as the contact between the fire and oxygen breaks the fire is controlled

CO2 being heavier than oxygen,covers the fire like blanket and also brings down the temperature of fuel.since,contact between the fuel and oxygen is cut off and the fire comes in control.
