The discipline of sociology can be described as the empirical study of human social practices and the effects. Sociology is about how people perceive and behave as social beings. Currently, group life is the fundamental concept of sociology. This implies people are connected and rely on each other for the very existence. In reality, it relies on how we communicate with other people, including our sense of who & what we are.

Explanation:

  • Socialization leads to shaping and describing our perceptions, emotions and behaviors and presents us with a pattern for our behaviour. When children socialize, they learn how to blend into the active members of human society and how to work. Socialisation teaches us the cultural norms and values which direct our everyday lives.
  • Culture can be characterized as the values, beliefs, behaviour and material artifacts held by a certain community of people. Culture is a way of life familiar to a variety of individuals. The way in which we work, where and what we eat, and how we spend our spare time represents our society. Culture establishes the foundation for meaningful living based on expectations of success, elegance and goodness.
  • Many cultures value competition, while others emphasise collaboration. Virtually any part of our lives influences our culture. Culture isn't innate; people build culture. Culture comprises a collection of beliefs and values passed over centuries, but culture is fluid  & subject to change due to the fact that it is produced by human beings.
  • Socialization is characterized as a phase of learning to behave in a way that is appropriate to society, and the acts and beliefs of a particular culture influence behaviour. Someone who has resided in or has stayed in another nation for a while and also in another significant part of a nation from which one has previously existed encountered traditions , values and behavior  differentiation in those areas. It is apparent therefore that an environment will affect strongly what person values.
