When you send information accross the internet, the transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) the language computers use when communicating over the internet first breaks the information up into packets, smaller blocks of information that also contain a variety of data that helps the packets travel across the internet.

Explanation for  how data is transferred across various computers connected to Internet:

  • The data is transferred across various computers over the Internet by following the Layered Network architecture.
  • To send data from one network to the other which was connected we need the IP address of the Destination Address and Port number. Once we received the IP address.
  • A packet is created having the Source IP Address, Port number of Source and Destination, and Destination IP address.
  • The packet travels from many of the networks, computers, and communications channels before they reach their final destinations.
  • Then the Packet is sent to other devices passing through physical devices like Switches and router.
  • Finally, the data reaches to the other network.
