Answer:

The roots in the trees are able to strengthen the soil and prevent erosion. They also absorb some of the water. When the roots are gone from trees after deforestation, there's nothing to strengthen the soil anymore. Hence, the soil slide around and the water is able to build on the surface causing flooding.

Answer:

deforestation causes frequent floods because the soil loses it fertility overtime and the water holding capacity of the soil is reduced due to insufficient amount of trees present . trees help in preventing floods since the roots takes most of the water drained in the soil which therefore in the presence of tree soil has a high water holding capacity.

deforestation also lead to soil erosion.trees has a huge role in preventing soil erosion since the roots of trees holds the soil together firmly . but since trees are cut down , the soil loosens up and dislodges the soil particles where the rainfall or strong wind washes away the soil which leads to soil erosion .
