Explain how democracy allow its citizens to correct their own mistakes ?

In a democracy, the government representatives are elected by the people themselves. the people are indirectly governing the country. if they feel that the representatives elected by them are not appropriate, they can correct their mistake by not voting the same representatives in the next elections.
