In dictatorship, people have no say in the way they are governed, they are unable to make any changes to the political system..
whereas democracy is based on allowing the people to govern the land i.e. by a majority of votes..
In dictatorship the ruler possesses the main power whereas in democracy people possess the main power..
So..people get to decide what type of political powers they want by choosing their party by a majority of votes...whereas in dictatorship the people have to agree with the hard and harsh terms of the ruler..
hope this helps..

Answer:
- democracy, which is generally compared to the concept of dictatorship, is defined as a form of government where the supremacy belongs to the population and rulers are elected through contested elections.
