Burning of fossil fuels causes air and soil pollution by the following means?
1 fossil fuel is a non renewable source of energy ,and it contains carbon particles and when they are burnt, they releases carbon monoxide, which is a poisonous, colourless compound and when it is inhaled it reduces the oxygen carrying capacity of blood.
2 the air becomes polluted and when clouds forms in the presence of these polluted air, it falls down as acid rain which is very much dangerous and disrupts the soil fertility and destroys crop.
The above mentioned points signifies that burning of fossil fuel not only causes air pollution but also it causes soil pollution.
