Cutting of trees in a large scale is known as deforestation . Deforestation can result in droughts because less trees means more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This leads to global warming i.e.
increase in temperature on earth that in turn disturb s the water cycle . Due to decreased rainfall droughts occur .
Deforestation results in increased instances of flooding as there is a lack of trees that bind the soil and absorb water . The deposition of soil in river bed decreases the depth of rivers .

Explanation: ⚫⚫⚫Deforestation plays several roles in the floodingequation because trees prevent sediment runoff and forests hold and use more water than farms or grasslands. The faster water runs from the watershed into the river, the higher a flood will be.⚫⚫⚫Deforestation of trees led to the frequentfloods and drought , because the soils loosens up the binding due to cutting of trees. In this way , Frequent floods anddrought is occured by Deforestation. The trees help to hold the soil particles together. ... When these trees are cut down, the place becomes warmer. ⚫⚫⚫ Deforestation results in decreased water holding capacity of soil. This reduces the infiltration of water into the ground which causes floods. On the other hand, deforestation leads to higher level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which causes global warming. Scarcity of trees disturbs the water cycle and may reduce rainfall leading to droughts.
