public sector means which are for people which are provided by the government. public sector contributes in many ways.it is increases come of people , it ensures job opportunities it contributes to the HDI ( human development index) by providing education & health facilities and by launching act eg.NREGA 2005.

Public sectors contributes in the economic development of a nations in many ways.Some of them are-
1.Public sector provides many essential things at very reasonable prises of which private sectors can't provide in any way.
2.Public sector can do huge investment.
3.Public sector provides education,health and many more facilities either free of cost or nominal prices.
4.The main purpose of public sector is to welfare of poors and not to take benefit from them.
5.Railways,post office,steel plant etc.are the some examples of sector which contribute to the economic development of a nation.
6.PDS (Public Distribution System ) is the best examle of it of which main aim to provide food especially to the poor people.
