The Lorentz-Drude theory says the following assumptions:

The theory says that a metallic conductor contains a large number of electrons that are free to move.

• The positive charge present is concentrated in one area.

• When the circuit is open, the electrons can move randomly in all directions with any velocities. Hence the net charge will be zero and there is no flow of electric current.
