forests prevent floods because when rain happens, the water falls on ground; as we all know. when these water are formed together, floods are formed. forests prevent the waters to form at one place and blocks them for their use by their roots.

☛☛The forests prevent floods by the following ways:-

☞By intersecting the flow of rain drops, thus checking the flow of rainwater on the forest floor.

☞By absorbing rainwater and allowing it to seep under soil, thus recharging the water table.

☞The roots of the trees bind the soil and prevent it from being washed away.

☛☛Thus, forests hold the soil which in turn control the floods.
