Genetic cloning and biotechnology help in growing genetically modified crops, by the transfer of some beneficial genes from one crop to another.

This biotechnological transfer of genes is usually done in the laboratories and initially it was done mainly to make the crops resistant to the harmful germs and to grow the tolerance towards the pesticides.

Now these technologies are used for increasing the nutritional value and the bio-fuel efficiency of the food crops.
