Explanation:

Women became important as readers as well as writers. Penny magazines were especially meant for women,as the manuals reached the proper behaviour and housekeeping. When novels began to be written in the nineteenth century, women were seen as important readers. Some of the best known novelists were women: Jane austen, the Brone sisters, George Elite. Their writings became important in defining a new type of women: a person with will, strength of personality, determination and power to think.

Many women fought for equality and the books become the edium of exchange of these thoughts. They wrote political tracts and new ideas emerged through clashes of options. Women gained much importance after the print revolution.
