Overcropping is when the land is being continuously under cultivation and is not allowed to lie fallow between crops. Due to this constant farming of the land the soil becomes drier and less fertile and is open for wind and rain erosion.
Deforestation accelerates soil erosion by leaving large areas exposed to heavy rainfall (which can cause leaching or flash floods) or wind erosion.
