x+2y=12

{\bigstar}SOLUTION{\bigstar}

To get above equation in the form of y=mx+b

{\bigstar}SOLUTION{\bigstar}

Notice the LHS of the format ,only (y) should be there in the LHS ,so move all others into RHS

➠2y = -x + 12

divide the equation by 2 in order to get y alone in LHS,

 \frac{2y}{2} =  \frac{ - x}{2} +  \frac{12}{2}

➠y =  \frac{ - x}{2} +6

Thus ,it's your answer .

SLOPE INTERCEPT FORM :

  • It is the special form of linear equations .
  • It's general format is

\boxed{\sf{ y = mx + b }}

  • y = y co-ordinate
  • m= slope of the equation
  • x = x co-ordinate
  • b = y - intercept

  • This form helps to find the slope(m) and y-intercept (c) in one equation itself .
