Explain how in sexually reproducing organisms the number of chromosomes in the progeny is maintained? Ans fast please

in sexualy reproducing organisms, at the time of gamete formation due to reductional division,every egg or every sperm contains half the amount of chromosomes I.e.,23(n) chromosomes each..when syngamy occurs gamete from mother body and father's body combined they together forms zygote(2n) thats when the new organism occupy whole set of chromosomes.
