The meals in space are very similar to the Earth. Foods like apple and vegetable are eaten just as they are. Some space foods are eaten by adding some hot water and once the water is absorbed, they squeeze it into their mouth.

                 or

There is no gravity in outer space, so the food does not automatically go down and stay down, so our muscles need to do more peristalisis there, so vomiting is more common there, and you can find food flyling around which is difficult to eat. Earlier the food was given in tubes from which the astronauts sucked the nutrition, nowadays they even eat full courses there.

   or

Imagine eating crackers. Where do the crumbs go? Right; they fall on your plate (if you have one), or the couch, or the bed, or the floor. In space, they DON’T FALL AT ALL. They FLOAT. They get everywhere - in everything, including the ventilation system, the machinery, the electronics, you name it. And that’s just crackers. Maybe you’ve heard the old joke about the loser of the boxing match eating with a straw? Well, there you go. Every kind of food has to be redesigned for space, or simply not allowed. Everything has to ‘stick’ together. Pizza toppings, a sandwich, etc. Or you have to eat it out of a tube. Not fun. NASA’s cookbook is not going to win any culinary awards, that’s for sure!
