Ocean Tides are affected by moon. just like gravity of the earth moon has also gravitational force. Actually, in a full moon night, when the moon is mostly visible, high tides are raised. This is because all the parts or surface of the moon exerts gravitational force and pulls the water upwards. While on a new moon night, gravitational pull by the moon is the least so tides are low.

High tides and low tides are caused by the Moon. The Moon's gravitational pull generates something called the tidal force. The tidal force causes Earth—and its water—to bulge out on the side closest to the Moon and the side farthest from the Moon. These bulges of water are high tides.
