Explain how properties of water changes by addition of solute?

The amount of solute determines how much the physical properties of the solvent are changed. The freezing point is the temperature at which a liquid becomes a solid. The freezing point of a liquid solvent decreases—becomes lower— when a solute is dissolved in it.
