explain how rate of diffiusion depend on temperture
Answers
Answer:
Temperature: Higher temperatures increase the energy and therefore the movement of the molecules, increasing the rate of diffusion. Lower temperatures decrease the energy of the molecules, thus decreasing the rate of diffusion. Solvent density: As the density of a solvent increases, the rate of diffusion decreases.

Answer:
The rate of diffusion increases with temperature and decreases with density of a substance. Thus, the higher the temperature the faster the diffusion. Lighter the material, faster the diffusion. Reasoning is this:
Rate of diffusion is dependent on velocity of the atom / molecule. For a given temperature, velocity of a lighter atom / molecule is higher than that of a heavier atom / molecule (for example velocity of hydrogen is higher than oxygen for a given temperature).
For a given raise in temperature, velocity of a lighter atom / molecule increases more compared to that of a heavier atom / molecule, because Kinetic energy is 0.5mv^2 and thus for a given increase in kinetic energy, a lighter atom / molecule will get a higher velocity.
