Dear Student,

◆ Insertion of desired gene in the plasmid -

  • First plasmid DNA is cut at specific sites by restriction endonuclease
  • This will produce sticky ends in the plasmid
  • Now the desired gene is inserted into the plasmid

◆ Insertion of rDNA into the host cell -

  • Plasmids are inserted into host cell by transformation

◆ Steps in rDNA technology -

  • Isolate vector plasmid and human DNA
  • Insert human DNA into plasmid
  • Put plasmids into host bacteria by transformation
  • Multiplication of rDNA in bioreactor to produce many copies
  • Identify clone carrying DNA of interest

Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful to you ..
