Dear Student,
◆ Insertion of desired gene in the plasmid -
- First plasmid DNA is cut at specific sites by restriction endonuclease
- This will produce sticky ends in the plasmid
- Now the desired gene is inserted into the plasmid
◆ Insertion of rDNA into the host cell -
- Plasmids are inserted into host cell by transformation
◆ Steps in rDNA technology -
- Isolate vector plasmid and human DNA
- Insert human DNA into plasmid
- Put plasmids into host bacteria by transformation
- Multiplication of rDNA in bioreactor to produce many copies
- Identify clone carrying DNA of interest
Thanks dear. Hope this is helpful to you ..
