Salt particles are very small in size. Thus they get into the spaces between the particles of water. In this way it gets disssloved in water.

✴ We know, that anything that occupies space, have mass and Made of particles is considered to be Matter. Water is too a matter, and there are lot of interparticular spaces or voids in between their particles or we Can say Atoms. So, whenever something is dissolved in it ,it can accomodate spaces between these water molecules( only if they are small enough to accommodate)
