Water is a very precious resource and it needs to be saved. Proper sanitation is necessary for water resource management. Less wastage of water in sanitation processes and pollution of water bodies due to direct flow down of industrial waste and other harmful things such as human excreta contributes to the proper water resource management. Water and sanitation are major factors that affect our health. Sanitation produces large amount of blackwater. Use of water saving toilets produces 5-7 litres of blackwater which is 15-16 times less than that produced by normal toilets.
