The soil is formed by the weathering process on rocks... Weathering is the process of breaking down of rocks or other materials into smaller particles due to long exposure to the atmosphere. Initially, when Earth was formed, it comprises only solid rocks. These solid rocks were broken down by weathering agents - water, the wind, and temperature...

Weathering process is a process of alternate heating and cooling due to the sun and rain caused the rocks to crack. These cracks got filled with water. The water in the cracks froze due to severe cold in winters. As the water expands when frozen, the ice broke the rocks and smaller pieces by sheer pressure. Day and night variation and the action of the wind and flowing water are also added to the weathering process....

Hope this helps you...

Hello friend your answer

The soil is formed by the process of weathering in which the rocks break down by the action of wind, water and climate. It is a very slow process and big rocks get converted into soil.
