Prevention of soil pollution can be done by (i) use of manures instead of synthetic fertilisers. (ii) use of natural pesticides. (iii) avoid dumping of polythene and plastics in soil. (iv) industrial waste should be treated before release in soil.

Prevention of soil pollution :- Polythene bags that are made up of plastic, pollute the soil. Other substances which pollute the soil are a number of waste products, like chemical and pesticides. So to prevent the soil pollution :-

• There should be a ban on polythene bags and plastic.
• Waste products and chemicals should be treated before they are released into the soil.
• The use of pesticides should be minimised.
