When the hammer of the bell hits the gong, it creates a ringing effect or vibration in the metal gong. Thus, sound is produced due to the vibration of the gong.

Air is commonest material through which sound is propagates when school bell is rung it pushes the molecules of air in front of it this in turn compress the air thus creating a region of high pressure and high density called compression this compression in air Travels forward when the ball moves back it creates a re region of low pressure in the air commonly called rare fraction due to this refraction and compression sound is formed from the bell
