Answer:
The accumulation of nutrients and chemicals in water proves fatal as it leads to Eutrophication .
Explanation:
- We know that now a days, we use many chemicals in industries ,home etc almost everywhere .
- The are benefiting us, but on the other side they are causing serious threat to environment. There is major problem in disposing them .
- We cant dispose them in soil ,water bodies etc because it contaminates them in one or other way.
- If these chemicals are disposed in water bodies, they lead to excess growth of algae in water bodies .That is water bloom occurs .
- This water blooms that is excess algae in turn take all the dissolved oxygen of water and cause harm to aquatic life .
- Due to this reason ,number of aquatic animals starts decreasing .This is eutrophication .

Answer
Accumulation results in phenomenal growth of phytoplankton and algae, theby reducing the penetration of oxygen, light and heat into waterbody. As a result , most of the organisms die, draining water of all its oxygen
Eg:- of there are traces of toxic chemicals in Water, then their concentration in algae will be much higher. When fish eat the algae, the concentration of toxins will increase further.
And it reduces level of oxygen.
