The atoms are held together in a hydrogen bromide molecule through covalent bond.
Explanation:
We know that hydrogen atom has 1 valence electron and bromine atom has 7 valence electrons. So, when a hydrogen atom chemically combines with a bromine atom then sharing of electrons take place.
As bromine is more electronegative in nature so it will attract the valence electrons of hydrogen more towards itself. Hence, a partial positive charge will develop on hydrogen atom and a partial negative charge will develop on bromine atom.
Therefore, hydrogen bromide is a polar covalent bond.
